Brothers, Ladies and Squires
“Thank you” to the Nominating committee for making recommendations on a new slate of officers for the upcoming Columbian year.
A very Happy Mother's Day to all the members of the Ladies Auxiliary. To all Veterans we thank you for all you have done for us and for the freedoms we still enjoy thanks in no small part to their valiant service.
May 3-5th, will be the NYS Convention where a new slate of State officers will be elected for the upcoming Columbian year.
On Monday, May 14th the ladies will again hold “A Night at the Races". All Knights are invited to attend. Come out and support our Ladies, they do so much for us. Everyone has an enjoyable evening, it is a lot of fun.
For the first time, we will be hosting a Car Show (SK Vincent J. Lombardo Memorial Car Show), to be held on May 20 from 11AM-4pm. I appreciate all the help this council has showed, this means a great deal to me personally. The Ladies Auxiliary will hold a Garage Sale inside, while the Squires will assist with this event. Please keep in mind the rain date is June 23rd from 10 AM-3 PM.
Everyone is invited to pray with us on May 22nd, that will be our Living Rosary at 8pm, followed by a repast.
Monday, May 28th will once again find us participating in the village’s Memorial Day parade. When the details become available, I will announce them at the meeting. All Knights, Ladies & Squires are encouraged to take part. We will carry the Flag, as well as our St. Mary’s/Maris Stella banner proudly. If anyone has a convertible, please let us know because we have those who would like to join us but cannot march. Knights please wear same uniform (black pants, white shirt, black shoes). I look forward to marching and having many persons marching along the parade route with me, showing Lynbrook our pride as we salute our Veterans.
Lastly, we will hold an Awards Night on May 29th, a Tuesday. We will recognize all those who won events throughout the year, e.g., Free Throw, Poster Contest, Soccer Challenge, Essay Contest, and Scholarship. We look forward to seeing you on that night..
May God Bless
